Service Description
Standard (Adult, Child & Infant) CPR & First Aid - This course is geared toward employees and/or designated first responders at places of business, day care operators and teachers who may need to respond to an illness or injury because of their job responsibilities or regulatory regulations, and need a certification card. This class combines both CPR & AED and First Aid training into one meeting time; as they are separate classes, participants can attend either the CPR & AED class or the First Aid class or both. The program teaches the participants how to handle a wide range of emergencies until professional help arrives. When taking both classes, participants learn to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants including performing CPR, relieving choking, using an AED and barrier devices. Participants also learn general first aid concepts for everything from cuts and scrapes to injuries to the muscles, bones, joints, head and chest. One also learns how to recognize and effectively respond to heat and cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings. Upon completing these classes the participant is certified for a period of 2-years in Standard CPR/AED and Standard First Aid. This combined class meets OSHA’s, the Department of Education and the Department of Social Services requirements for CPR/AED & First Aid Certification. The $80.00 course fee includes a CPR & First Aid guidebook, equipment, disposable training supplies, handouts, certification card and applicable taxes. You can upgrade to a comprehensive full-color book for an extra $18.00. As this combined CPR/AED and First Aid Class usually lasts 4 hours or more, feel free to bring a snack or meal to eat during the class.
