BLS Provider CPR

Service Description

Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider - The American Heart Association’s BLS Provider course is designed for healthcare professionals (e.g. nurses, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, EMS providers, EMS providers, respiratory therapists, allied health workers, law enforcement officers, nursing assistants, dental hygienists & assistants, massage therapists) and others working in healthcare settings. The participant will learn how to recognize cardiac and breathing emergencies and appropriate response such as adult, child and infant CPR, 2-rescuer CPR, use of a bag-valve mask, proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and foreign body airway obstruction. Upon completing the course the participant will be certified in CPR (BLS Provider) by the American Heart Association (AHA) for a period of two years. The $75.00 course fee includes equipment, disposable training supplies, handouts and applicable taxes. A full-color book can be purchased for an extra $25.00. This course meets the regulatory requirements of the Virginia Department of Health, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services, OSHA and the Virginia Department of Social Services.
