Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) program is an American Heart Association (AHA) program  is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, students will enhance their skills in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).


  • Each participant is expected to have reviewed the information in the ACLS Textbook prior to the course.
    ACLS Manual
  • Complete the self-assessment modules on the AHA Student Website (using the code in your textbook), identify any gaps in your knowledge, and remediate those gaps by studying the applicable content in the ACLS Provider Manual or other supplementary resources.
  • Participants who attend the course must have the basic knowledge and skills to participate actively with the instructor and other students. In most cases, no time will be spent on rhythm interpretation skills and/or pharmacology during the course. This information should be reviewed prior to attending the course.
  • ACLS participants are required to have a current Basic Life Support card when attending our 1-day Provider/Renewal course. Participants will be required to demonstrate proficiency in BLS CPR skills repeatedly during the course.
Emergency Prep does not currently offer skills evaluations for ACLS or PALS.

Blended Learning:
