Blended-Learning Recertification
Both the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) and the American Heart Association (AHA) offer blended learning opportunities using a combination of individual on-line training combined with an instructor-lead skills check-off session to provide certification in CPR and First Aid. We highly recommend that the blended-learning only be used for the recertification process and not as an initial certification. The advantage of blended learning is that part of the course can be completed at your own pace and at a time that is convenient for you.
Classes are purchased on the ECSI or AHA websites. This gives the student access to a self-paced online review of course materials, as well as an online administered written exam. When you have successfully completed the written exam, you will print-off a certificate of completion, you must bring that certificate of completion to the Emergency Prep office at 3221 Peoples Drive in Harrisonburg, VA for the skills practice session and skills evaluation.
Emergency Prep does not currently offer skills evaluations for ACLS or PALS.
