With over 40 years of combined experience in emergency response, we at Emergency Prep have seen first hand the importance of immediate access to emergency care when illness or injury strikes.

Approximately 75 to 80 percent of all sudden cardiac arrests happen at home. Being trained in First Aid and CPR can mean the difference between life and death for a loved one. Effective bystander CPR can double or even triple a victim's chance of survival. If bystander CPR is not provided, a sudden cardiac arrest victim's chances of survival fall 7 to 10 percent for every minute of delay until defibrillation. Death from sudden cardiac arrest is not inevitable...

If more people knew CPR, more lives could be saved.

	CPR for Community Members The Standard CPR/AED (ECSI) and Heartsaver CPR/AED (AHA) courses are community-focused training programs in emergency resuscitation for the lay rescuer. This course provides individuals in the community with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize emergencies and provide CPR for adults, children and infants until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This program will teach individuals to perform resuscitation techniques for patients for all ages (CPR for Adult, Child and Infants) who are victims of sudden cardiac arrest, as well as those who are unresponsive or choking. Course fees include a full color manual and certification card. Skills include:
		w Adult, Child and Infant CPR w Adult, Child and Infant rescue breathing w Recognizing emergencies w Use of barrier devices when providing resuscitation methods w Procedures for relief of choking w Use of an AED

	First Aid for Community Members The Standard First Aid (ECSI) and Heartsaver First Aid (AHA) courses are community-focused training programs in first aid for the lay rescuer. This course provides individuals in the community with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize emergencies and care for victims until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Course fees include a full color manual and certification card. Topics include:
		w Recognizing emergencies and assessing victims w Severe bleeding, shock and wound care w Soft tissue injuries w Thermal, chemical and electrical burns w Injuries to head and spine w Injuries to eyes, ears, nose and mouth w Abdominal, chest and pelvic injuries w Bone, joint and muscle injuries including splinting procedures w Medical emergencies (heart attack, stroke, chest pain, breathing difficulty, seizures, diabetes) w Emergencies during pregnancy w Poisoning w Environmental emergencies (heat, cold, bites and stings, drowning) w Rescuing and moving victims and special situations
